What This Product Does:
- The top mount supports the top of the shock/strut: it holds it firmly in place while carrying the loads from the damper, spring and suspension movement. It also helps isolate unwanted noise/vibration from the car body.
- Over time the rubber mount may compress, degrade or split; the bearing/bushings may have play; hardware may have fatigue or corrosion. This causes unwanted movement, noise, ride/handling degradation.
- This overhaul kit replaces the mount and all associated hardware so the top of the damper is restored to correct geometry, correct mount stiffness and correct isolation.
Key Symptoms & When You Should Replace:
- Knocking, clunking or popping noises from the rear suspension when going over bumps or during load changes.
- Rear ride quality has deteriorated: more harshness, more vibration, or the rear feels “loose” or vague under cornering.
