Carrillo Fastener / Bolt assembly lube 1oz.
Sold each

Cp-Carrillo's fastener assembly lube is molybdenum based lubrication grease with enhanced properties.

This product offers an improved clamp load repeatability, greater resistance to high pressure and temperature (range -22f to 1200f), and no oil contamination. The coefficient of friction stays unchanged, even after several connecting rod bolt re-tightening and loosening processes.

We highly recommend lubricating the connecting rod bolt head and thread with this lubricant.

Be sure to add it to your order if you are replacing your rod bolts.

Product Information
Product Information
Hylomar Gasket 3400 is a modified anaerobic curing, flexible sealant designed to become a Formed in Place (FIP) Gasket when cured. The cured compound has good temperature resistance and high resistance to fretting. The cure is initiated when the compound is in contact with metal ions and in anaerobic conditions. The cure rate and final strength is dependent on the metals being joined and the temperature at which the component is used. The heat generated by a running engine will accelerate the cure.

Typical Applications
Hylomar Gasket 3400 can be used as a gasketing compound between machined surfaces. It is ideal for sealing between mating faces on engines and transmission components where resistance to temperature and vibration are essential.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Hylomar Gasket 3400 should be applied to clean and dry surfaces, free of contamination such as oil or grease. The compound may be dispensed by hand from cartridge, concertina pack, or via a screen printing system. Once applied the joint should be assembled as soon as practical. Any excess compound can be easily wiped off external surfaces with a clean cloth soaked in Acetone or other suitable solvents.

 Common Porsche Engine Issues

Porsche engines are robust, but some models face well-known issues that require rebuild or replacement parts:

  • Excessive Engine Smoke – often caused by oil separator failure or oil overfill; a common issue in 996 and 986 models
  • IMS Bearing Failures – particularly affecting certain 996 models; early detection can save an engine, but advanced failure may require a complete rebuild
  • Timing Chain & Belt Problems – worn components can affect performance and cause catastrophic failures if neglected
  • Exhaust Leaks – damaged manifolds or gaskets allow fumes to escape, impacting performance and emissions

While some issues are minor and corrected with a single replacement part, others can escalate into major rebuilds if ignored.

Do I Need to Rebuild My Porsche Engine?

Not every problem requires a full rebuild. Regular oil changes, inspections, and routine servicing can prevent many issues. However, an engine rebuild may be required if:

  • IMS bearing failure has caused internal damage
  • Timing components have failed
  • Major wear or overheating has damaged pistons, valves, or crankshafts
  • You want to restore your engine to factory condition
  • You’re seeking performance gains beyond OEM output

Rebuilds are common across a wide range of Porsches, from air-cooled icons like the 356, 911, and 914s, through to 996, 997 GT3s, and turbocharged models. Whether for restoration or performance, rebuilding can breathe new life into your Porsche.

Correct fitment and component compatibility are essential when rebuilding a Porsche engine. Design911 supplies Genuine Porsche and OEM-approved engine rebuild parts designed to match original factory specifications, ensuring every component integrates correctly within the engine assembly.

Matched to Original Porsche Specifications

Each engine component, whether a set of piston rings, a connecting rod, a camshaft or a radial oil seal, is produced to original dimensions and material standards. This ensures correct seating, proper oil flow and reliable interaction between moving parts across all Porsche engine generations.

Designed for Accurate Mechanical Integration

Engine rebuild parts supplied by Design911 are selected to maintain the correct relationships between critical systems:

  • IMS components align with factory timing geometry
  • Gaskets and complete gasket kits maintain correct sealing pressure and oil system integrity
  • Timing chains and tensioners support stable and accurate valve timing
  • Pistons, cylinders and piston rings maintain consistent compression and wear characteristics
  • Engine mounts, vacuum pumps, fuel system and oil system components integrate cleanly with OEM interfaces

Compatibility Across Porsche Engine Platforms

Whether working on an air-cooled flat six or a modern water-cooled turbocharged engine, Design911 supports compatibility across the full Porsche range by supplying parts manufactured to:

  • Original material specifications
  • Factory torque and installation requirements
  • OEM machining tolerances
  • Model-specific sequencing and alignment standards

Reducing Fitment Errors and Premature Wear

Using incorrectly matched engine components can lead to issues such as timing misalignment, oil pressure loss, bearing failure, compression imbalance or premature wear of internal parts. Design911 helps reduce these risks by offering engine rebuild components that meet Porsche’s original design intent and fitment requirements.

Porsche Engine Wear, Service Intervals and Maintenance Guide

Porsche engine components wear at different rates depending on mileage, driving conditions, maintenance history and engine generation. The table below outlines typical service or inspection intervals along with common symptoms of wear for key Porsche engine rebuild components.
