When developing these brake discs, the mission was to engineer the highest quality 2-piece brake discs possible.

These discs are manufactured from the finest materials and consequently are some of the highest quality 2-piece discs sold on the market at any price point. All outer friction rings are cast from a high-copper high-carbon G3500 disc alloy. The bells are precision machined from aerospace grade aluminium then hard anodised for great looks and excellent durability.

The cast iron outer ring 'floats' on EBC's patented SD-Drive technology bobbins, allowing the friction ring to expand and contract freely by up to 3mm when subjected to the extreme heat generated from hard braking.

All bobbins are machined from a single piece of stainless steel. This prevents unsightly corrosion and ensures the outer ring continues to float freely even after years of exposure to the elements. This means that EBC Racing's 2-piece floating discs offer a low maintenance solution that are at home on both the public roads and the race track. Each bobbin location also features an anti-rattle spring clip, meaning these discs are totally silent in operation and do not have the 'off brake disc rattle' that plagues many other full race 2-piece disc systems.

Upgrading to an EBC 2-piece disc will shave crucial kilograms off a vehicles un-sprung rotational mass, leading to sharper turn in, improved tyre road holding, better fuel economy and an increase to BHP at the wheels. Best of all, when the cast iron friction ring becomes worn after a period of use, the outer ring alone can be replaced, allowing the centre hub and stainless bobbins to be re-used, reducing long term running costs.

About EBC Racing Brake Disc

EBC Racing Brake Discs - High-Temperature Motorsport Braking Performance

EBC Racing Brake Discs are engineered for track-day, competition, and high-performance driving, where braking systems are subjected to extreme heat and repeated heavy load. Designed using advanced metallurgy and motorsport-focused construction, these discs deliver improved thermal stability, consistent braking performance, and increased resistance to fade under demanding conditions.

Available at Design911, EBC Racing brake discs are designed to complement high-friction racing brake pads, providing confident braking control, predictable pedal feel, and durability during aggressive driving and circuit use.

What Do EBC Racing Brake Discs Do?

EBC Racing brake discs work with performance brake pads and calipers to manage extreme braking loads.

Core Functions:

  • Convert high kinetic energy into controlled stopping force.
  • Dissipate extreme heat generated during track and race use.
  • Maintain consistent braking performance under repeated heavy braking.
  • Reduce brake fade during high-speed circuit driving.
  • Support stable pedal feel and braking modulation.

These discs are designed to perform reliably during repeated high-temperature cycles common in motorsport environments.

Why Do Racing Brake Discs Wear or Fail?

Racing brake discs operate at the limits of thermal and mechanical stress.

Common Causes of Wear or Failure Include:

  • Extreme heat cycling, leading to surface cracking or distortion.
  • Aggressive pad compounds accelerating disc wear.
  • Sustained heavy braking, reducing disc thickness over time.
  • Thermal shock, causing stress fractures.
  • Use beyond service limits during competition.

As discs wear or degrade, braking consistency and safety are compromised—particularly under track conditions.

Why Replace with EBC Racing Brake Discs?

Replacing worn discs with EBC Racing brake discs restores braking performance and reliability for high-demand driving.

Key Benefits:

  • Motorsport-grade materials for extreme temperature resistance.
  • Improved fade resistance compared with road brake discs.
  • Consistent braking performance lap after lap.
  • Designed to pair with EBC Racing and other performance pad compounds.
  • Ideal for track days, sprint racing, and competition use.

EBC Racing brake discs provide the durability and performance required when braking margins are critical.

Highlights

  • Motorsport-focused brake disc design.
  • High resistance to fade, cracking, and distortion.
  • Designed for extreme braking loads.
  • Suitable for track, race, and high-performance applications.
  • Manufactured to EBC’s racing specifications.
