High quality exhaust system for the Porsche 996 Turbo. Manifold back exhaust that includes 200 Cell Sports Cats and does not include tailpipes or manifolds.
The silencers in this exhaust are linked to one another, creating a greater balance between the two silencers which improves flow, performance and provides a sports sound. It is an aftermarket, performance exhaust with a louder note and boasts significant power gains over OE due to a free-flowing, mandrel bent, TIG welded system. The cats are about as powerful as we could get onto the Porsche 911 Turbo while still passing the MOT!
*Removable Cats can be replaced with DesignTek bypass pipes 3606009655. Bypass pipes are for track use only.
DesignTek system fits with original Porsche tail pipes or DesignTek tail pipes.

Restore the rear exhaust system of your Porsche 911 (996-series) with these genuine OEM mufflers. Designed for 2002-05 Porsche 911 Carrera/Carrera 4 models, these silencers deliver direct-fit replacement, correct hanger mounting, factory tail-pipe alignment and authentic acoustic performance.
Fits:
- Porsche 996 C2 3.6L 2002-2005
- Porsche 996 C4 3.6L 2002-2005
- Porsche 996 C4S 3.6L 2002-2005
What This Product Does:
- The muffler (silencer/back-box) is the final large component in the exhaust system: it reduces noise, completes the exhaust flow path, and ensures the exhaust gases are safely expelled under the rear of the vehicle.
- It helps maintain the correct back-pressure, supports the exhaust hangers and alignment, and plays a role in sound tuning (ensuring the vehicle meets factory acoustic specification).
- Correct fitment ensures the tailpipes, hangers, connections and appearance align with factory standards—especially important for OEM look, sound, and performance.
- Excessive noise, harsh exhaust tone, or sudden change in sound (potential sign of internal baffle damage or leaks).
- Visible corrosion, holes, cracks or rust on the muffler body or tail-pipe connections—common on older 996 cars.
- Poor fitment or misalignment of the muffler/tailpipe assembly (exhaust shifting, visible sagging or melted brackets).
- Reduced performance / overheating of nearby components due to exhaust misalignment or exhaust gases contacting bodywork.
- Bad or broken mounting/hanger points causing vibration or movement under load.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Replacing worn or damaged mufflers restores correct sound, fit and backing support of the full exhaust system.
- Maintains factory appearance and acoustic characteristics — important for value, authenticity and drive-quality in the 996 series.
- Prevents further damage: a failing muffler may lead to hanger failure, alignment issues or heat damage to nearby components.
- Enhances reliability: a fresh muffler assembly means fewer leaks, less corrosion risk and better longevity of the rear exhaust section.

QuickSilver were approached by a well known specialist in racing and track-day Porsche, to develop a complete SUPERCUP exhaust system for enthusiast customers.
KEY FEATURES:
More Power +20bhp
Less Weight - to lose over 20kgs (~44lbs) from the rear of the car.
Ease of fit & no loss of ground clearance > All in a compact volume.
Great Sound - but to enable compliance with most track-day venues - A tall order!
Motorsports Look.
Appropriate Sound - about 105dB > but reduced further with removable Titanium cans.
An ambitious project, requiring new materials technology, manufacturing methods, component integration and constant testing.
The factory exhaust includes five muffler casings, 2 x Cats, 2 x side mufflers and 1 x rear muffler. QuickSilver's brief was to distil these into 1 x casing & similar to the system produced by Porsche's Motorsport Dept for their international one-make racing series.
Drawing their constant racing experience our partners were able to provide technical input and testing facilities.
Throughout the development period the system was evaluated both at our partner's in-house test facilities and on the track. Each time refinements were included in the overall design to create a fantastic system worthy of the Porsche name.
QuickSilver system includes:
Manifolds with equal-lenght primary pipes of the appropriate bore for optimum power.
Single rear silencer casing housing integral 200 cpsi RACE catalytic converters.
Provision for fitting of OBD2 exhaust sensors measuring the exhaust gas composition before and after the Cats on both cylinder banks.

Standard Exhaust Systems – Engineered for Performance, Sound & Longevity
A standard exhaust system is essential for your Porsche’s performance, efficiency, and sound. It controls the flow of exhaust gases from the engine, reduces emissions, manages noise levels, and ensures balanced back pressure for optimal power delivery.
At Design911, we supply standard exhaust systems built from high-grade stainless steel and corrosion-resistant materials. Designed to meet or exceed manufacturer performance standards, these systems deliver the perfect blend of durability, refinement, and performance — ideal for both daily driving and restoration projects.
Each exhaust system is developed to ensure precise fitment, excellent gas flow, and an authentic Porsche exhaust note that retains the car’s original character.
What Do Standard Exhaust Systems Do?
A standard exhaust system performs several vital roles that keep your Porsche running efficiently, cleanly, and safely.
Core Functions:
- Directs
exhaust gases safely away from the engine.
- Reduces
emissions through catalytic converters and silencers.
- Controls
back pressure for balanced performance and fuel efficiency.
- Minimises
engine noise while preserving Porsche’s signature tone.
- Aids temperature regulation and exhaust scavenging.
A properly maintained exhaust system ensures smooth performance, reduced fuel consumption, and compliance with emissions regulations.
Why Do Exhaust Systems Fail?
Exhaust systems are constantly exposed to heat, moisture, and corrosive gases — all of which take a toll over time.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
- Corrosion
and rust from road salt, condensation, and moisture.
- Cracked
welds or pipes due to vibration and thermal cycling.
- Internal
baffle damage causing rattling or loss of silencing effect.
- Blocked
or leaking joints leading to reduced performance and increased noise.
- Burnt-out catalytic converters or mufflers reducing efficiency.
Signs of exhaust failure include loud noises, rattling,
exhaust odours, or reduced engine performance — all clear indicators that
replacement is required.
Why Replace Standard Exhaust Components?
Replacing a worn or damaged exhaust system restores performance, comfort, and efficiency while maintaining your Porsche’s distinctive exhaust tone.
Key Benefits:
- Restores proper exhaust flow and back pressure.
- Improves fuel efficiency and power output.
- Reduces noise and vibration.
- Ensures emissions compliance and MOT readiness.
- Built from corrosion-resistant stainless steel for longevity.
- Direct-fit compatibility for classic and modern Porsche models.
Upgrading to a high-quality standard exhaust preserves the car’s original performance characteristics while ensuring long-lasting reliability.
Highlights:
- Precision-engineered exhaust systems for Porsche vehicles.
- Optimised gas flow for power, torque, and efficiency.
- Durable stainless-steel construction for corrosion resistance.
- Designed for authentic tone and perfect fitment.
- Suitable for classic restoration and modern maintenance.
- Reliable, quiet, and performance-balanced solutions.
