Reconditioned Warm up regulator.

Fits:
Porsche 911 SC 3.0L 1975-83

Having problems starting your 911 when it's cold? It could be the warm up regulator located on the upper left hand side of the engine. This simple device is responsible for controlling the amount of fuel delivered to the engine during its warm-up period. The pressure acting upon the top of the control plunger varies depending on the engine temperature and provides an effective method of enrichment. The control pressure is tapped off from the primary pressure circuit in the metering head's lower chamber through a tiny restrictive hole which gives it the ability to differentiate between the two pressures. A flexible pipe then connects the control plunger gallery to the warm-up-regulator and returns back to the metering head to a connection next to the primary pressure regulator's transfer valve. This valve is in the circuit to close the fuel from the control circuit when the engine is off, avoiding the total loss of system pressure while the engine is stationary.

    PLEASE NOTE:
  • The surcharge for this reconditioned part will be refunded when the exchange unit is received and approved by us and the relevant manufacturer.
  • Please note, surcharge refunds often take an average of 6 to 8 weeks to be approved by the manufacturer.
  • Acceptance of the exchange part is at the manufacturer's discretion, based on the part being fit for reconditioning.
  • All surcharges and exchanges are subject to our terms and conditions.

About Switches / Regulators / Sensors

Air Intake Switches, Regulators & Sensors – Precision Control for Porsche Engine Efficiency

Air intake switches, regulators, and sensors are critical components in your Porsche’s engine management system, designed to monitor, control, and optimise the airflow entering the engine. These parts ensure precise fuel-air mixture regulation, allowing for efficient combustion, smooth performance, and compliance with modern emissions standards.

At Design911, we offer a complete range of genuine and high-quality air intake sensors, pressure regulators, and switches for numerous Porsche models, including 911, Boxster, Cayman, Cayenne, Macan, and Panamera. Each component is engineered to deliver accuracy, reliability, and seamless integration with your vehicle’s electronic control systems.

What Do Air Intake Switches, Regulators & Sensors Do?

These components are essential for maintaining the correct balance between air and fuel delivery. They perform several vital functions, including:

  • Monitoring airflow and pressure to regulate combustion efficiency.
  • Sending data to the ECU (engine control unit) for precise timing and fueling adjustments.
  • Ensuring smooth throttle response and stable idling.
  • Maintaining emission control by optimising air-fuel ratios under all conditions.

Together, they help your Porsche achieve maximum performance, fuel economy, and emissions compliance — whether under everyday driving or high-performance conditions.

Why Do Air Intake Switches, Regulators & Sensors Fail?

Over time, these components can degrade due to heat, vibration, or contamination. Common causes of failure include:

  • Carbon or oil buildup on sensor tips affecting readings.
  • Electrical failures from wiring corrosion or connector damage.
  • Mechanical wear in regulators or valves.
  • Vacuum leaks causing inaccurate air pressure readings.
  • Exposure to moisture leading to corrosion or short circuits.

Symptoms of failure include erratic idling, reduced power, poor fuel economy, engine misfires, or a check engine light triggered by faulty airflow data.

Why Replace Faulty Air Intake Components?

A malfunctioning air intake sensor or regulator can lead to incorrect air-fuel mixtures, reduced performance, and increased emissions. Replacing these components ensures your Porsche runs smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

Benefits of replacement include:

  • Restored power and throttle responsiveness.
  • Improved combustion efficiency and reduced emissions.
  • Reliable ECU communication and consistent performance.
  • Long-term durability with manufacturer-quality precision.

Our selection of intake regulators, pressure sensors, and switches are built with advanced electronics, corrosion-resistant materials, and precision calibration, ensuring reliable performance in all Porsche models.
