Features & Quality
Our coilover-only spring plate system has the added features and thoughtful engineering you expect from Elephant Racing.
Rubber Seals
Rubber seals keep water and contaminate out of the oversized precision rod ends. Seals are critical to extend rod end life for both racers and street cars. Racers have the occasional "agricultural excursion", covering the suspension with grit and dirt that accelerates wear of unsealed rod ends. Street cars have occasional exposure to water when washing or in rain. Rubber seals are key to long life.
Build Quality
Skillful TIG welding and machined radius on the plate. Hard anodize burgundy aluminum parts are tough, attractive and look good on most any color car. Top quality materials throughout.
Hardened alloy steel blades and aircraft grade aluminum to handle even high HP turbos.
Precision, Oversize rod end – For long trouble-free performance.
Ease of adjustment
Drilled hole positively defines plate length ensuring proper thread engagement at double adjuster and rod end, preventing accidental over-extension possible with double-slotted designs.
Two Height Settings
Choose stock height or 1 inch raise for anti-squat geometry (requires matching raise of trailing ar

Upgrade your Porsche’s suspension precision with this Uprated Rear Spring Plate, designed specifically for G50 gearbox-equipped Porsche 911 models (1987–1989). This enhanced spring plate replaces the factory unit with a stronger, stiffer design that improves rear suspension control and geometry accuracy.
Sold Each.
x2 Required Per Car.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
Diagram Ref No 6
What This Product Does:
- The uprated rear spring plate connects your Porsche’s torsion bar to the rear suspension arm, transferring spring tension into the chassis. It controls ride height, rear camber, and toe, and ensures the suspension geometry remains stable under load.
- The “uprated” design improves on the original factory plate by using stronger materials and stiffer rubber bushes, reducing unwanted flex and maintaining alignment during hard cornering, acceleration, and braking.
- For Porsche 911 models equipped with the G50 gearbox (1987–1989), this version ensures perfect fitment with the later rear suspension layout and provides a more precise, performance-focused response.
- Uneven or Unstable Rear Ride Height – The car may sit lower on one side or show inconsistent ride height after bumps.
- Poor Handling or “Rear-End Float” – The rear feels loose or unpredictable when cornering, braking, or accelerating.
- Excessive Noise or Clunking – You may hear knocks or creaks from the rear suspension as the bushes wear or the plate moves.
- Excessive Tire Wear – Incorrect geometry from worn plates can cause uneven rear tire wear, especially on the inside edge.
- Vibration or Instability at Speed – Worn bushes can allow unwanted movement in the rear suspension, affecting high-speed stability.
- Restores Geometry Precision: Keeps torsion bar alignment correct, maintaining stable camber and toe under load.
- Improves Handling: Firmer bushings and stiffer construction minimize flex, improving cornering response and balance.
- Eliminates Rear-End Slop: Reduces play and movement in the suspension for a tighter, more connected driving feel.
- Enhances Durability: Modern uprated materials resist corrosion, fatigue, and aging better than the originals.
- Essential for Restorations & Performance Builds: Ensures suspension performs at its best when upgrading shocks, torsion bars, or ride height.

The Porsche Washer for Camber Adjuster is a genuine OEM component designed to ensure precise suspension alignment. Used as part of the camber adjustment assembly, this washer acts as a spacer and load distributor, helping maintain secure and accurate positioning of the suspension arms.
Sold Each.
Fits:
- Porsche 911 1965-1968 2.0L / 912 SWB (F)
- Porsche 911 1969-1969 2.2L / 2.4L / 2.7L RS LWB (F)

- Porsche 928S4 5.0L 1987-92
- Porsche 928GTS 5.4L 1992-95
What This Product Does:
- As a washer used in a camber adjuster, its job is to act as a spacer or shim between the adjuster mechanism and adjacent components (arm, bracket, nut, etc.).
- Helps maintain the correct alignment spacing / preload so that camber adjustment geometry is precise and held firmly.
- Prevents metal-to-metal friction, distributes load, and ensures fasteners seat properly.
Signs / Symptoms Of Fault Or Need For Replacement:
- Camber adjustment doesn't stay stable — alignment drifts or slips.
- Unwanted play in suspension / control arm area near the adjuster.
- When removing or reinstalling camber adjuster, the original washer is worn, bent, or shows damage.
- Hard to achieve the correct alignment or shim stack due to missing or damaged spacer.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Ensures accurate alignment — camber settings rely on precise spacing, and a worn or missing washer can ruin alignment.
- Preserves hardware life — correct spacing reduces uneven stress or wear on adjuster bolts, bushings, or arms.
- Maintains safety and handling — camber out of spec can lead to poor tyre contact, excessive wear, or less stable cornering.

Porsche Spring Plates | Design911 Suspension Components for Ride Height, Alignment & Stability
Spring plates are a critical part of your Porsche’s rear suspension system, connecting the torsion bars to the trailing arms and helping manage suspension travel and ride height. They act as pivot points that absorb energy during acceleration, braking, and cornering — ensuring smooth movement and maintaining chassis balance. Properly functioning spring plates preserve suspension geometry, enhance grip, and provide the responsive handling Porsche is known for.
At Design911, we supply a complete range of spring plates and components, engineered for precision, strength, and long-lasting performance. Manufactured from high-quality steel or performance-grade alloys, our spring plates deliver exact fitment and reliable operation under all driving conditions. Ideal for servicing, classic restorations, or performance tuning, they help maintain stability, comfort, and control across your Porsche’s suspension system.
What Do Spring Plates Do?
Spring plates play a vital role in controlling the movement and alignment of the rear suspension, ensuring even weight distribution and consistent handling.
Core Functions:
• Connect torsion bars to trailing arms for proper suspension movement.
• Regulate ride height and suspension travel.
• Maintain consistent rear wheel alignment under load.
• Absorb road impact to enhance ride comfort and grip.
• Provide smooth suspension articulation for balanced handling.
In perfect condition, spring plates ensure your Porsche remains stable, comfortable, and responsive — on both the road and track.
Why Do Spring Plates Fail or Degrade?
Due to constant movement, load stress, and environmental exposure, spring plates are subject to wear and corrosion over time.
Common Causes of Failure Include:
• Corrosion or rust weakening the plate material.
• Worn bushes or mounts causing excess play and vibration.
• Fatigue cracks from continuous torsional stress.
• Impact damage from potholes or aggressive driving.
• Incorrect alignment or ride height adjustments.
When spring plates fail, you may notice uneven ride height, poor alignment, or rear-end instability — clear signs that replacement is needed to restore balance and safety.
Why Replace or Upgrade Your Porsche Spring Plates?
Replacing worn or damaged spring plates restores suspension geometry, alignment accuracy, and overall handling performance. Upgraded plates offer improved adjustability and durability — ideal for performance builds or track preparation.
