Dating from 1989, this is one of the earliest examples of the legendary Porsche 964 Carrera 4 and remains in refreshingly original condition. The car is finished in Guards Red with the original Design 90 alloy wheels and ‘elephant ear’ door mirrors, giving it exactly the right period look.
Introduced for the 1989 model year, the 964 represented a major step forward for the 911, bringing modern engineering such as four-wheel drive, power steering and ABS, while still retaining the unmistakable character of an air-cooled Porsche.
The interior features Linen leather seats (a cream shade) with contrasting red piping, linen carpets and a black dashboard. It also benefits from the desirable Sports seats, which provide greater lateral support, along with the option of a sunroof.
The Porsche has covered a relatively low 76,500 miles and comes with a substantial folder of paperwork dating back to 1997, detailing the servicing and maintenance carried out over the years. It has been with the last owner – just the sixth in total – for the past 10 years, during which time it covered only around 8,000 miles.
During this period, the car was regularly serviced by respected Porsche specialist AW MotorSport, who carried out a number of works to keep it in excellent condition. The car was serviced last year.
A nice piece of history is that this was the last car inspected by renowned Porsche guru Peter Morgan before his retirement.
Included with the car are the original manuals, together with a selection of magazines relating to the Porsche 964.
Early, well-preserved 964s are becoming increasingly sought after, particularly those that remain close to their original specification. This is an honest and appealing example with a great colour combination, sensible mileage and excellent history.
