Diagram ref no 12

Installed from the front of the thermostat housing using the correct hex key (Allen) or socket, the M6×25 bolt passes through the housing flange and threads into the engine block boss. The built-in washer evenly distributes clamping load and maintains seating integrity under thermal cycling. Correct torque and hardware integrity help prevent coolant seepage, reduce vibration-induced loosening, and support dependable cooling system operation under all driving conditions.

Fasteners in the cooling system - particularly at thermostat housings - are exposed to temperature extremes, moisture, and corrosion. Bolts that are stretched, corroded, or previously over-torqued can lose clamping force, leading to coolant leaks, overheating, and potential long-term engine damage. Using the correct Genuine Porsche OE bolt (PAF106608) ensures the thermostat housing remains securely fastened with the correct sealing pressure, helping maintain reliable cooling system performance and preventing untimely engine temperature issues.

When to replace:
Removing the thermostat housing for service
Replacing a corroded, rounded, or damaged bolt
During cooling system overhaul or gasket replacement
When original hardware shows wear, rust, or stripped threads
