This impeller blade fan centre support is a high-quality replacement centre hub support for the engine cooling fan (alternator/generator impeller) on early Porsche 911 models.

The fan centre support forms the core mounting structure for the cooling fan (impeller) that attaches to the alternator / generator shaft. It ensures the cooling fan is securely aligned and balanced, allowing it to draw air through the engine compartment and over the engine’s cylinder heads and oil cooler - helping regulate operating temperatures and prevent overheating.

On classic air-cooled 911 engines, the cooling fan is critical to drawing fresh air through the engine bay and sustaining proper temperatures. The centre support (hub) is the backbone of the fan assembly - if it’s worn, corroded, or damaged:
• The fan can wobble or run out of balance
•  Bearing loads on the alternator/generator can increase
•  Cooling airflow can diminish
•  Noise and vibration can increase.

Replacing an old or deteriorated centre support with an OE Match unit restores precise fan alignment, improves cooling efficiency, and helps protect surrounding engine components from heat-related wear.
