Ignition coil pack
This OE Match ignition coil is an engine ignition component designed for several Porsche flat-six engines, including models such as the Porsche 911 (996 / early 997), Boxster (986 / early 987) and related variants. The ignition coil sits directly above the spark plug and converts battery voltage into the high-voltage spark required to ignite the air-fuel mixture inside the combustion chamber.
Sold individually, 6 Required per engine. Price is for each.

Fits:
Porsche Boxster 986 2.5L 1997 - 1999
Porsche Boxster 986 2.7L 1999 - 2002
Porsche Boxster S 986 3.2L 1999 - 2002
Porsche 996 C2 3.4L 1997 - 08/2001
Porsche 996 C4 3.4L 1997 - 08/2001

This OE Match ignition coil is designed to match the original Porsche component in shape, electrical characteristics and mounting configuration. It integrates the spark plug connector and coil housing, delivering high-voltage ignition directly to the spark plug for reliable combustion.

This component is commonly replaced during ignition system maintenance, particularly when misfires occur or when performing full ignition service.

The ignition coil converts the vehicle’s low-voltage battery power into high-voltage electrical energy, creating the spark needed to ignite the air-fuel mixture in the engine cylinders.

A properly functioning coil ensures smooth engine operation, consistent power delivery and efficient combustion.

Ignition coils are exposed to high heat and vibration within the engine bay. Over time they can develop cracks in the housing or internal electrical faults, which may cause engine misfires, rough running or loss of power. Replacing worn ignition coils restores proper ignition performance and helps maintain smooth engine operation.

When to Replace.  Consider replacing the ignition coil if you notice:
  Engine misfires or rough idle
  Loss of power during acceleration
Check engine light related to ignition faults
  Cracked or damaged coil housing
During spark plug or ignition system service
