Location: Front axle, steering rack assembly mounted beneath the front subframe, linking the steering column and tie rods.

The steering gear plays a vital role in ensuring precise handling and safe directional control. Over time, internal wear, seal failure, or corrosion can lead to fluid leaks, increased play, or heavier steering effort. A worn or leaking rack affects steering response, stability, and overall driving comfort. Replacing it with an OE-Match unit restores smooth operation, tight steering feel, and the factory performance your Porsche Cayenne was designed to deliver.

When and why to replace:
Noticeable looseness or vibration through the steering wheel.
Power-steering fluid leaks or visible damage to the rack housing.
Uneven steering effort or noise when turning.
Vehicle wandering or pulling despite correct wheel alignment.
During major suspension or front-axle service for full system refresh.
Preventative maintenance on high-mileage vehicles to avoid sudden failure and costly repairs.
