Product Information
Product Information
Accelerator Cable.

The Porsche Accelerator Cable  is a genuine OEM replacement designed for Porsche 928 models (1978–1986). Acting as the direct link between the accelerator pedal and throttle body, this cable ensures smooth and responsive throttle control for precise driving performance.

Fits:

  • Porsche 928 4.5L 1978-82
  • Porsche 928S 4.7L 1981-83
  • Porsche 928S2 4.7L 1984-86

What This Product Does:
When the driver presses the gas pedal, the cable pulls on the throttle linkage, opening the throttle plate to let in more air and fuel.

Symptoms Of A Worn Or Failing Accelerator Cable:
  • Slack or delayed throttle response when pressing the pedal.
  • Sticky or binding pedal feel from a frayed or corroded cable.
  • Pedal doesn’t return to idle cleanly (slow release).
  • Visible wear, fraying, or corrosion on the cable ends or sheath.
  • In worst cases, a complete break, leaving the car with no throttle control.

Why Replacement Matters:
  • Restores safe and responsive throttle control.
  • Prevents dangerous failures that could leave the car undriveable.
  • Protects connected components (throttle body, linkage) from strain caused by stiff or stretched cables.
  • Preserves the original driving feel of your Porsche 928.
