RSS
RSS for Porsche
RSS parts for Porsche at Design911 focus mainly on suspension and chassis components, aimed at drivers who want sharper response and improved precision for fast-road and track-biased setups.
A Quick Look at RSS
RSS information on this page is based on details supplied by the manufacturer or distributor, plus any OE references provided with the parts.
Choosing the Right Fit for Your Porsche
Where RSS is listed for Porsche, use the supplied model coverage and OE references to confirm suitability. Check details that commonly affect fitment such as model year, side/position, and connector or mounting type where relevant.
- Typical reasons to choose RSS include reducing compliance at key suspension points, improving steering feel, and helping alignment settings stay consistent under load for fast-road or track use.
- Common side effects or issues can include increased NVH, squeaks if parts are not lubricated correctly, and binding or “nervous” handling if components are installed or torqued incorrectly, or if the car is not aligned afterwards.
- Handling that feels too harsh or edgy is often linked to over-stiff choices for the car’s use, or upgrading one area of the chassis without keeping the overall setup balanced.
- Plan for a proper alignment after fitting suspension or geometry parts, and consider upgrading in stages so you can keep the chassis balance where you want it.
- Where suspension parts are replaced, checking and correcting geometry is important for predictable handling, even tyre wear, and stability under braking and acceleration.
Browse by Category
If you already know the area you are working on, start with the category and then filter by Porsche model. Where real-world symptoms and typical reasons to replace are provided, use them to keep the wording grounded.
Suspension & Axle
Suspension and axle parts in RSS and related ranges are typically chosen to restore or sharpen your Porsche’s handling, ride comfort, and braking stability. Replacement is usually driven by wear, age, or the desire for a firmer, more controlled setup, especially where knocking, wandering, vibration, or uneven tyre wear are present.
- Replace suspension components in balanced pairs (left/right) where applicable and schedule an alignment afterwards to avoid instability and irregular tyre wear.
- Start by diagnosing play and wear in joints, bushes, and mounts rather than replacing parts at random.
Suspension Upgrades
Suspension upgrades are where RSS typically features, helping reduce body roll, improve steering response, and tailor your Porsche for road, fast-road, or track-day use. Choices usually depend on how firm you want the car to feel, desired ride height, and how much adjustability you need.
- Clarify your goal (comfort versus response) before choosing spring rates, bush materials, or damper setups and plan for correct geometry and, where needed, corner balancing.
- Poorly matched upgrades or skipped setup work can cause harshness, bottoming, tyre rubbing, or inconsistent handling, so treat the car as a complete system.
Anti Roll Sway Bar
Anti-roll (sway) bars and associated RSS hardware are used to reduce body roll and fine-tune handling balance on Porsche models. They are often upgraded when owners want crisper turn-in, a change in understeer/oversteer balance, or when refreshing a corroded or damaged factory bar and its bushes/links.
- Most noises blamed on the anti-roll bar are usually from drop links or bushes, so inspect these at the same time and consider replacing them together.
- Avoid extreme stiffness changes at just one end of the car to keep the handling balance predictable, and expect a small effect on ride comfort over single-wheel bumps.
Control Arms Front
Front control arms and RSS front arm solutions are fitted to restore or refine steering accuracy, braking stability, and wheel geometry on your Porsche. They are typically replaced when bushes or ball joints wear, causing knocking, vague steering, or uneven tyre wear, or when a firmer option is desired for sharper response.
- Plan a full alignment after replacing front arms and, where possible, renew both sides together for consistent behaviour.
- Check related components such as top mounts, drop links, and track rods so you do not chase the same noise or vibration after replacement.
Control Arms Rear
Rear control arms are important for keeping rear alignment stable and maintaining predictable handling. RSS components in this area are often chosen when drivers want improved stability under acceleration and over bumps, or when worn bushes are causing rear steer effects, instability, or uneven rear tyre wear.
- Rear alignment is essential after arm replacement, particularly where camber and toe are adjustable.
- Assess the full rear linkage set, as refreshing several aged arms and bushes together can give a more consistent and durable result than replacing one item in isolation.

Replacement for 99733104701, 99733104700,
Brand:
Fits:
Porsche 996 C2/C4/C4S 1998-2005
Porsche 996 TURBO/GT3/GT2
Porsche 997 MKI 2006-2009
Porsche 997 TURBO/GT3
The RSS Adjustable Rear Link Kit is the proper way to correct the rear suspension geometry of lowered 996 and 997 models which greatly improves handling and feedback. The additional negative camber in the rear can prematurely wear out rear tires as the factory eccentric bolts do not offer enough adjustment to properly re-align the car to desired specifications.

Type: None Adjustable Thrust Arm Bushing
RSS Tarmac Series Motorsport Lower Control Arms are specifically engineered for use on lowered vehicles that have reduced travel struts/dampers such as PASM or M030 option. Alternatively if the car is equipped with high quality aftermarket or motorsport coilover kits ie Bilstein PSS10, KW V3 or Ohlins etc.
The Lower Control Arms are NOT COMPATIBLE with "Base Model Suspension" (long travel struts/dampers) or "Base Model struts/dampers with lowering springs."
Caution: Do not install on vehicles with Base Model struts/dampers as it may result in an unsafe driving condition with possibility of suspension bind when struts/dampers are fully extended or in full drop.
Price: Set of Two Control Arms plus 2 x 1mm/2mm/3mm/7mm Shims.
RSS Tarmac Series Control Arms are manufactured from 6061 aerospace grade billet aluminum. This allows for a more uniform molecular structure
at every point of the arm over the cast motorsports arm giving the customer a more durable and inherently stronger part. Manufacturing from billet
aluminum rather than casting results in less impurities in the metal.
Completely serviceable - for the extreme, repetitive track-day participant, our high-strength steel alloy spherical bearings (with a friction reducing /longevity increasing Teflon liner) can be replaced unlike the motorsports arm, in which case the customer will have to buy a new set of arms if the spherical bearings are worn.
Additionally, anodized surfaces and zinc-plated steel parts allow for better corrosion resistance against the elements.
Adjustable suspension geometry - adjust dynamic camber values and roll center heights with our unique zinc-plated steel bushings.
Solid monoball control arm ends offer a more responsive suspension over the factory one-piece rubber-injected control arm (also uses the same high
strength steel alloy spherical bearing found in our control arm monoball kit).
Unique design provides more gusseting over the motorsports arms for added strength and aesthetically appealing looks.
