Tunnel Repair kit is a pair of replacement metal panels designed to repair the lower section of the shifter tunnel (centre tunnel) on classic Porsche 911 and 912 models from 1965 through 1989. The set includes left and right repair sections to restore structural integrity where the original tunnel metal has corroded or deteriorated.

This product is a sheet-metal repair panel set made by Restoration Design, a specialist manufacturer of high-quality restoration panels specifically for vintage Porsche automobiles. These panels are used to replace rusted, damaged, or worn areas of the interior shift tunnel assembly that can develop corrosion over time due to road salt, moisture, and wear.

Manufactured to fit the original chassis dimensions, this set consists of the left and right lower tunnel sections - the parts that form the bottom sides of the central tunnel housing around the gear selector area. They restore proper structure and surface ready for welding and finishing.

The shifter tunnel area is susceptible to rust from moisture ingress and road spray from the floor pan. Left unrepaired, rust can spread, weaken the tunnel structure, and eventually compromise adjacent chassis components. Installing proper repair panels ensures the area is made strong again and prepared for proper interior and exterior restoration - helping preserve the vehicle’s value and integrity.

Replace your tunnel panels if you see:
•  Rust holes or perforation in the tunnel metal
•  Soft spots or weakened structure around the gear selector tunnel
•  Flaking or bubbled paint indicating sub-surface corrosion
•  Dampness or water ingress inside the footwell or tunnel area
•  Signs of prior patchwork that’s failed or poorly aligned
