Kits
Design911 offers an extensive selection of package deals for
Porsche parts, providing an ideal solution for Porsche enthusiasts looking to
upgrade, maintain, or personalize their vehicles. These packages are
thoughtfully curated to include complementary components, ensuring
compatibility and cost-effectiveness.
Kit includes 4 x Lambda Oxygen Sensors (2 x before and 2 x after catalytic converter)
Fits:
Porsche 996 Carrera 2 / Carrera 4 - 2002 to 2005
*Cars with M661 stricter emission control concept
Porsche 996 GT3 MKII - 2004 to 2005
Porsche 997.1 Carrera 2 / Carrera 4 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 Carrera 2S / Carrera 4S - 2005
Function:
The Oxygen Sensor (also known as Lambda Sensor) is located in the exhaust manifold and measures the amount of unburned oxygen in your engine's exhaust. Based on the amount of oxygen, it sends a signal to your engine computer which then adjusts the air/fuel mixture for optimum engine performance and emission control.
Excessive fuel consumption, a faulty oxygen sensor can waste 30% of your fuel.
Drivability problems, such as engine surging or hesitation.
High hydrocarbon emissions, failing an emissions inspection.
The engine warning light may be on or service flag displayed.
The ecu/computer stores a mixture-related fault code.
When the oxygen sensor has stopped functioning completely, the catalytic converter may overheat and fail
Maintenance/Service:
Test and/or replace every 30,000 miles.
Perform periodic emission checks.
Watch for service light.
Vehicle manufacturers recommend periodic inspection and replacement of oxygen sensor.

Speed sensors, also referred to as pulse generators, are often the source of various errors. These sensors provide critical speed data required for the engine electronics to function properly, enabling regulation through feedback control. Depending on the vehicle's control system, pulse generators can serve as either camshaft or crankshaft sensors. Our spare parts program includes a wide range of pulse generators to meet your needs.
Starting with the 1996 model year, knock sensors, speed sensors, and temperature sensors were upgraded with improved plug connections. Using this conversion kit, you can easily update your vehicle’s wiring harness to the latest connector standard.
Please note: this part has been changed by Porsche and you will require the adaptor kit for plug connector if you are changing the original item.Diagram ref no 13

also known are Engine Crankshaft Position Sensor
The engine crankshaft position sensor (CPS) is a critical component that monitors the crankshaft’s position and rotational speed. It sends this data to the engine control unit (ECU), allowing precise control of fuel injection, ignition timing, and other key engine functions. Without accurate input from the CPS, the ECU cannot properly synchronize spark or fuel delivery—leading to poor performance or even a no-start condition.
Crankshaft sensors typically use magnetic or Hall-effect technology:
Magnetic sensors generate a signal with a coil and magnet as the crankshaft rotates.
Hall-effect sensors detect changes in the magnetic field using a semiconductor for highly accurate readings.
Depending on the engine design, the CPS is usually located near the crankshaft pulley, harmonic balancer, flywheel, or transmission. It reads notches or teeth on a tone wheel to create a signal the ECU can interpret.
Over time, heat, vibration, and contaminants (oil, dirt, or metal shavings) can cause the sensor to fail. When this happens, common symptoms include engine stalling, rough idling, misfires, or a no-start condition.
Fits:- Porsche 911 1984-1986 3.2L
- Porsche 911 1987-1989 3.2L G50
- Porsche 911 1978-1989 3.3L Turbo (930)
Common Symptoms of a Failing Crankshaft Position Sensor
· No Start Condition – If the ECU doesn’t receive a proper signal, the engine won’t start.
· Stalling When Warm – The sensor may fail when the engine reaches operating temperature, causing unexpected stalling.
· Erratic or Dead Tachometer – In some vehicles, a faulty CPS can cause the tachometer to behave irregularly.
· Check Engine Code P0335 – A failed internal circuit may trigger this code, though not always.
· Poor Performance at Certain RPMs – Timing issues can cause hesitation, especially at idle or higher RPMs.
· Multiple Cylinder Misfires – Unlike a single bad coil or injector, CPS failure can cause misfires across all cylinders.
This crankshaft sensor is designed for Porsche 911 G models produced between 1984 and 1989. It serves as a pulse generator, transmitting engine speed data to the DME, and is a frequent culprit when the engine experiences irregular performance.
Identified by the Bosch number ending in 005, this sensor was installed in pairs within the vehicle. A reliable and precise pulse generator is crucial for optimal engine electronics performance.

The suspension control arms connect the suspension and steering knuckle to the chassis and allow the suspension to move and articulate over bumps and road imperfections. This kit also includes the sub-frame bushes.
Control arms utilize bushings and ball joints to make these connections and those are the parts of the control arm that wear out and fail. Worn ball joints and bushings will cause vibration and clunking when driving, uneven tire wear, cause the vehicle to pull in one direction, and increase stopping distances.
This control arm kit will restore the handling and driving performance of your 993. Included in our kit are the rear control arms for the left and right sides.

Suspension Control Arm Kit
Control arms are crucial link in a vehicle's suspension connecting the suspension to a vehicle's subframe. These pieces are usually hinged to allow for suspension to travel and articulate as the vehicle rides over obstructions in the road and while the vehicle turns. Many vehicles such as those with independent suspensions have multiple links and feature several connection points and arms to offer better ride quality and comfort.
As bushings and joints in a control arm begin to wear you may notice a looseness feel in your suspension. And while many arms have replaceable and serviceable individual components, many still require the replacement of the entire arm.
Suspension Control Arm Kit Failure Symptoms
Play in suspension joints where these arms meet the subframe and/or knuckle Buckling noise emanating from the suspension Uneven tire wear Inability to properly align vehicle Shutter or vibration coming from the steering wheel at highway speed Wandering or pulling sensation from side to side felt on the steering wheel.
