Our cat is made up of the following components:

• Ceramic monolith of a honeycomb design to allow free air flow and maximum surface area, coated with precious metals to enable the conversion of gasses that pass through it
• Interam matting to hold the monolith in place. The matting expands when exposed to heat to supply the pressure needed to keep the monolith secure
• A grade 409 stainless steel can (or housing) to provide protection and enable the cat to be built into the exhaust system. 409 grade can contain upto 90% iron and will be prone to rust. It still has higher rust-resistant properties than mild steel.

Installing the cold air performance enhancement kit will make any standard 996 with factory mufflers sound as if you have added a very mild performance exhaust. This is perfect for any 996 owner that wants his car to sound slightly more aggressive than stock.

The cold air kit adds 1.5 liters of cold air by eliminating the plastic factory muffler in air pipe, this allows the engine to draw cold air across entire topside of air box (left and right rather than just from the right) Adds 0.42 seconds faster acceleration 3000-6000 RPM.

The cold air kit is made from 4 ply silicone tube - better flow from air box to throttle body.

No "Check engine" lights as you retain the factory MAF.

Exhaust catalytic converter bypass X-Pipes with cat cheats. This cat bypass would not bring the engine light on but will fail any exhaust emission test.
Please note this is a catalytic converter look exhaust that is in fact bypass with built in small chamber that has got catalyst inside it. The emissions will be picked up from the chamber and readings would be as from regular catalyst.
